Dr. Angie
Founder & Owner
Dr. Angie grew up right here in the northwest suburbs — Rolling Meadows, Illinois — which means when she says she is passionate about this community, she means it personally. She did not move here to open a practice. She came home to build one.
Growing up, she struggled with asthma, allergies, and frequent colds that kept her on the sidelines — missing school, missing games, missing the childhood moments that are supposed to be carefree. Frequent antibiotic use became the norm, and with it came a cycle that left her immune system more depleted than supported. At 18 years old, chiropractic care changed everything. It changed her health, her perspective, and ultimately the entire direction of her life.
But the chapter that shaped her most as a doctor and as a human being? Becoming a mother.
Dr. Angie’s first baby arrived at 32 weeks — a homebirth that became an induction, and a baby that spent time in the NICU. She knows the fear, the guilt, the helplessness, and the fierce love that fills that room. Her second was an induction at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia. Her third, another hospital birth after a planned homebirth was redirected by preeclampsia again — and yet somehow, through every unexpected turn, she found her way to her fourth and final baby, born at home, the birth she had worked toward through it all. Four pregnancies. Four completely different birth experiences. And a nervous system education that no textbook could ever provide.
Dr. Angie is not here to tell you that interventions are bad. Inductions, C-sections, forceps, vacuums — these are sometimes life-saving measures, and she is grateful they exist. What she is here to tell you — as a doctor and as a mama who has lived it — is that when our babies go through those experiences, their nervous systems carry the weight of it. And that stress deserves to be addressed, not waited out, not grown out of, and not dismissed. She has sat in the NICU. She knows what it means to hand your brand new baby to a team of strangers and pray. And she has also felt what it means to watch a stressed little body finally regulate, finally settle, finally thrive — because someone took the time to look at the nervous system and actually do something about it.
If you are a mama who had a birth that did not go as planned — whether that means an emergency C-section, a NICU stay, an induction, or simply a birth that felt harder than it should have — Dr. Angie is not just your doctor. She is someone who has been in that exact room, with that exact fear, and found her way through it. You are not alone, and your baby’s nervous system deserves the same fighting chance she gave hers.
That personal transformation — from sick kid to healthy teenager, from NICU mama to homebirth mama, from patient to doctor, from Rolling Meadows girl to founder of Bright Futures Chiropractic — is the heartbeat behind everything she has built here.
Dr. Angie is a graduate of the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa and has completed over 250 hours of advanced training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). She is an active ICPA member and is currently pursuing her certification through the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice and the Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics (C.A.C.C.P.). She trains with world-renowned EPIC Pediatrics and is involved in the forefront of developing research behind chiropractic care during pregnancy and birth. While in chiropractic school she led campus organizations, served as a Campus Guide, and tutored Neuro-anatomy — because she has always been drawn to understanding the nervous system at its deepest level.
Her passion for serving others extends beyond her practice walls. A mission trip to Lima, Peru brought chiropractic care to the Amazon and neighboring underserved communities — and for many families there, it was their very first exposure to what chiropractic care could do for their lives. Dr. Angie’s bilingual English and Spanish skills allowed her to connect with those families in a way that went far beyond the adjustment. She returned home humbled, motivated, and more certain than ever that this was exactly the work she was meant to do.
Today Dr. Angie serves pregnant women, newborns, infants, children, and families across Arlington Heights and Pilsen, Chicago — coming full circle back to the northwest suburbs she grew up in, building a community rooted in the belief that every family deserves the chance to thrive naturally, no matter how their story started.
“I am passionate about taking care of children and families. Being able to change the direction of an adult’s health is deeply rewarding — but being able to preventatively make a difference in a child’s life is invaluable.”

Dr. Cecilia
Chiropractor
Dr. Cecilia Powell received her Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida. Prior to that, she attended Ave Maria University where she received her degree in Biology and played varsity volleyball.
Dr. Cecilia is a second generation chiropractor and has experienced the benefits of chiropractic care since birth.
Chiropractic supported her nervous system during her years in school, helped boost her immune system, and helped her recover from sports injuries during her athletic years. She has also seen how much of a difference chiropractic care makes throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and caring for a family.
Because chiropractic has been such a large part of her life, she is passionate about helping all ages reach their wellness potential through natural health care.

Dora
Virtual New Patient Coordinator and Team Operations Support
Ms. Dora joined the Bright Futures team at the end of 2021! Dora was born and raised in Hungary and after high school, she accepted an opportunity to be an au-pair and traveled to the United States! She has since enrolled in courses at Triton College while being a full-time Nanny.
She was introduced to pediatric chiropractic care and the BFC team when she brought her client’s children for their appointments. In just a few weeks, she noticed how the kids were able to focus better, their quality of sleep increased, the constipation issues drastically decreased and in all they were more balanced kiddos.
When the family moved out of state, Dora knew she had to reach out to see if a position would be available to join the team! As you may have guessed, Dora loves playing with kids, holding babies and of course, wearing super fun (and kid-approved) shirts and socks! Working with kids and seeing all of their progress makes her heart full! She is interested in learning more about child development to help support families going through tough times.
In her free time, Dora loves to explore the city with her husband. Together they strive to maintain healthy life habits. She enjoys quick workouts, long walks, and cooking.

Maria
Care Advocate
After experiencing the personal benefits of chiropractic care firsthand, including improvements in anxiety, headaches, digestion, and chronic heartburn, Maria developed a deep passion for holistic wellness and nervous system centered care. She loves seeing patients and families experience positive transformations and feels honored to be part of their healing journey.
Maria graduated Cum Laude from Colorado State University with a degree in Journalism and Media Communications and a minor in Sociology. She believes storytelling creates connection, empathy, and understanding, and she loves learning about each patient’s unique story. In addition to her chiropractic background, Maria is also a licensed esthetician, which further fueled her passion for helping others feel confident, cared for, and comfortable in their own skin.
Outside the office, Maria enjoys yoga, concerts, crafting, singing, playing the ukulele, and spending time with her dog, Cooper. From supporting mothers through pregnancy to celebrating a child’s first steps or a patient’s first pain-free week, Maria feels honored to be part of each patient’s healing journey.

Emily
Virtual Care Advocate
Emily has been a dedicated part of the Bright Futures team since 2022. Due to her ongoing academic commitments, she primarily works with the team virtually, but you’ll also find her helping out in the office from time to time during school breaks!
Emily is currently pursuing her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. She is excited to be in the clinical phase of her program, where she gains hands-on experience and applies her skills to patient care.
Emily decided to pursue chiropractic after being fascinated by the significant impact that conservative, hands-on care can have on a person’s health and ability to heal. This passion is built upon a strong academic foundation: she holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Illinois State University.
A proud Chicago native, Emily grew up on the city’s Northwest side. When she isn’t working with studying,
Emily enjoys staying active, whether it’s through cooking, exploring the local farmers market, or going for long walks.
